About Us

How did we become sheep farmers?

We were from California (yes, “city slickers” sums it up) that moved to Colorado in 2017. We decided retirement could use a little more dirt, a few more animals, and apparently a lot more hay. What started as a new adventure turned into a small Colorado hobby farm and a flock of sheep we genuinely love raising.

We keep things intentionally small. Our sheep are raised on our grass viewed from our back porch and cared for by us. Raising them ourselves means knowing where our food comes from, how the animals were cared for, and what went into every package we offer.

But farming isn’t our whole personality. You’ll find us working in the garden, playing pickleball, making entirely too much homemade jelly, tinkering with one project or another, or escaping to the water.

We’re learning as we go, enjoying everyday, and embracing a version of retirement that turned out to involve considerably more sheep poop than anticipated.

With all our love,
Chris & Marie Hanna
